Atlantic City to train youths

Fifteen minority youths in Atlantic City are to receive speciality construction based training, courtesy of a new 12 week initiative.

Upon completion a jobs connection with Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will be made, with the company’s current transformation of the Trump Taj Mahal set to open in the summer of 2018.

Kiron in Pinnacle partnership

Virtuals provider Kiron Interactive has signed a new agreement with Pinnacle, with Betman Online, its online bet management platform, to be made available through the Iforium platform.

The full gaming portfolio for Kiron is to be made available to Pinnacle players, including its catalogue of virtual sports titles.

Pennsylvania cracks the whip

Fines of $1,167,000 have been issued to five casinos in Pennsylvania, with a plethora of violations found, including failures to adhere to internal controls, intoxicated patrons and underage gambling.

The Mohegan Sun Pocono came out the worst, with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board ordering it to pay $1m for a duo of infractions.

Gaming Congress returns

The Japan Gaming Congress is set to be held for the third time, with the Conrad Tokyo taking centre stage on May 10 and 11.

Hosted by Clarion Gaming, this year’s focus is set to be on the integrated resort industry, with attendance both locally and internationally expected.

Norwegian loophole problems

Norway’s government is to introduce legislation aimed at banning a loophole that allows foreign gambling companies to advertise on television, via channels which are broadcast from overseas.

Statistics show an average of 62 such adverts an hour reach Norwegians, despite only Norsk Tipping and Rikstoto being allowed to advertise money games.

Italian expansion

SG Interactive, part of the Scientific Games Corporation family, has announced that a selection of titles have launched on the regulated Italian market for the first time.

Eleven titles are currently certified for release, with the initial offering available on Betsson Group’s StarCasino.it, with other clients set to follow.
