To the dogs for SIS with new dedicated channel

Operators are set to have access to a “market leading” 42 meetings a week, via a new dedicated greyhound channel set to be launched by Sports Information Service (SIS) in March.

Through the new offering, SIS has detailed that it is to incorporate exclusive greyhound rights from eight British and three Irish tracks.

In addition virtual greyhound racing is also set to be featured, with punters to benefit from a betting event being provided every three minutes throughout the day.

Paul Witten, Product Director at SIS, said: “Our dedicated greyhound channel will be the market leading greyhound channel on offer to operators, with high-quality pictures, multi-angle viewing, rapid replays, and top quality virtuals.

“Our teams have been proactive in working with stadia to ensure they optimise their greyhound offer, and the stadia have increased investment in infrastructure and greyhounds trialling recently, to ensure the most competitive racing product possible in 2018.

“Coupled with quality virtual racing, our new channel provides operators with frequent short form betting opportunities which will help increase dwell time in-shop and online.”

SIS states that of the weekly meetings, the majority of which are set to be broadcast during prime-time afternoon and early evening slots, the channel will offer more live races at peak times, “when customers want them.”

One key feature of the new SIS greyhound channel is to be the quality of the live pictures, which it has detailed will greatly improve the racing experience for viewers.

This is due to the fact that SIS will be broadcasting the greyhound racing from three differing camera angles, as opposed to “current live pictures which feature one camera angle.”

The live racing action is also set to be complimented with virtual racing in between the live offerings, designed to ensure that customers benefit from continuous short form betting opportunities.
