Australia-based online slot developer, Big Time Gaming, has signed a major deal to license its patented and trademarked MegaWays mechanic to Blueprint Gaming, a well-known UK-based game studio.

The unique deal offers Blueprint Gaming, part of the Gauselmann Group, the opportunity to design and develop its own games using MegaWays, which debuted in Big Time Gaming’s Dragon Born over two years ago.

The first Blueprint release that will incorporate MegaWays is Diamond Mine, launching in May, which will be followed by Irish Riches Progressive.

The latest iteration of MegaWays is powering BTG’s latest slot release, Extra Chilli, which has become the most successful LeoVegas launch of all time, smashing all previous KPIs from any provider.

MegaWays is a random reel modifier system that allows any given spin to produce a different number of symbols across the reels, allowing players to experience a totally different game with every spin.

Big Time Gaming has cornered the market with this innovation with games like Bonanza, White Rabbit and Extra Chilli.

Blueprint Gaming is owned by German gambling giant, the Gauselmann Group, which designs, develops and builds slot machines and games for land-based and online operators.

Big Time Gaming CEO Nik Robinson said: “This is a ground-breaking agreement that stands testament to the highly innovative and unique mechanics we have developed here at Big Time Gaming.”

“MegaWays is a very successful mechanic and we believe it will eventually dwarf the standard 5×3 format of recent years. We are delighted to be able to share it with Blueprint Gaming and we believe this deal will lay the foundation for similar deals in the future.”

Blueprint Gaming managing director Matt Cole said: “Big Time Gaming has created a great game format in MegaWays and we look forward to incorporating what has become a very well recognised mechanic in a set of future Blueprint titles.”
