Rebel Call! Paddy Power launches CONIFA 2018 documentary series

Paddy Power has announced the launch of its ‘first-ever documentary series’, further supporting its sponsorship of the ‘2018 – CONIFA World Football Cup’ (London 31 May – 10 June).

Last March, the bookmaker announced its lead sponsorship of CONIFA’s tournament, stating that it wanted to supportfootball’s rebel nations’, who are currently not recognised by FIFA.

Sponsoring CONIFA 2018,  the bookmaker stated that it wanted to partner with a summer football tournament whose organising parties’ supported racial diversity, gay rights and English football fans…

Competing teams at ‘CONIFA London 2018’, will include the exiled people of Tibet, the Zimbabwean region of Matabeleland, Northern Cyprus and the Isle of Man.

Paddy Power marketing releases the first video of its ‘in-house scripted, produced and edited’ documentary series, which will be broadcast across the bookmaker’s YouTube Channel and CONIFA partner website Goal.com

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “We love the idea of a tournament which represents the underdog, and sticks one up FIFA.

“English fans have little or no incentive to go to Russia, so we thought we’d give them an alternative right on the doorstep… CONIFA 2018 has no millionaires, no prima donnas, just decent lads who are every bit as patriotic as every other international player.”
