Sportradar places ‘player education’ at the forefront of legacy DFL partnership

Sports data, intelligence and content provider Sportradar has expanded its German football ‘Together Against Match-Fixing’ programme, delivering new provisions to the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL).

The DFL, the governing body of German professional football leagues, will launch a series of new integrity workshops for Bundesliga syndicated football clubs developed by Sportradar.

Seeking to eradicate match-fixing from German football development, the DFL has stated that its will make the Sportradar workshops mandatory for all licensed athletes.

In particular, the training programme emphasises communicating sports integrity values to younger players and preventing match-fixing or criminal exposure at German youth academy levels.

‘Since the 2014/15 season, it has already been compulsory for the clubs to take suitable prevention measures against match-fixing in the Youth Academies for age groups from U-16 to U-23.’ details Sportradar in its update.

Further to launching new education verticals, Sportradar will support the DFL with a dedicated e-learning tool, as well as a mobile app.

Sportradar has monitored DFL syndicated matches and competitions since 2005, and further analyses DFL betting-related markets across 7,000 events per season.
