Perform picks Amsterdam as DAZN’s innovation home

Global sports data, content and media rights distributor Perform Group has disclosed that it will launch a special propose ‘Amsterdam Development Centre’ for its DAZN sports streaming service.

Launched in 2016, DAZN seeks to disrupt and revolutionise modern sports viewership and content engagement, delivering a tailored OTT streaming service to multiple international broadcast markets.

Updating the media, Perform Group details that its planned Amsterdam Development Centre will play an integral role in DAZN’s product development; helping the company secure vital capacities in research & development, technology integrations, quality assurance and innovation.

Supporting DAZN’s global growth ambitions, Perform Group details that it will seek hire 300 software engineers and product development specialists for its Amsterdam innovation centre.

The Amsterdam project is led by Florian Diederichsen, DAZN Chief Technology Officer, alongside DAZN product lead Ben Lavender (CPO).

Speaking to media Diederichsen, backed Amsterdam as DAZN’s hub for development and innovation, a city which has lured the technology talents of Uber, Netflix and Amazon.

“We are already live in seven countries across three continents and have software developers creating a market leading product in the UK, Poland and now the Netherlands. The new development centre is an important milestone in DAZN’s journey to become the world’s biggest sports broadcaster, with the best sports streaming product in the market.”
