Nintendo says no to Amazon France over pricing row

The Japanese video game developer Nintendo has stopped the shipment of Switch consoles to Amazon France after both the companies could not reach an agreement over product pricing. It is bad news for the customers who have bought Nitendo products from Amazon. They will have to buy the switch consoles, from third-party sellers or shop elsewhere now.
Amazon France does not have any stock of the Switch in any variant listed on the website now. All listings in this regard lead potential buyers to third-party sellers, some of whom charge a higher price what is listed on Amazon. Nintendo had to resort to this extreme step of stopping shipments after numerous markdowns in price by Amazon France. For example, Amazon France often sold the console for as low as €270, with other retailers remaining at €299.99 or above.
While it would be Amazon which takes the hit from this price drop, rather than Nintendo, it is possible that Nintendo wishes to avoid one retailer securing domination over the sales of the system; rather than upset other retailers, it seems that Nintendo wants the console to be consistent across the board.
Interestingly, this will future ramifications too, both on upcoming games such as Super Smash Bros and on other existing games like Ultimate and Super Mario Party. These games are not available on Amazon website now. The situation demands a truce from both parties, as far consumers are concerned.
