AJNA in focus: What’s next for BetConstruct’s Third Eye?

The central component of BetConstruct’s ICE London exhibition was AJNA, or Third Eye, a scouting solution which recognises the game flow of sporting events and provides advanced player tracking in real time.

Dmytro Fedyukov, Head of Data Science at BetConstruct, delivered an update on AJNA as it is today, where it will go in the future, and the key target groups for the product.

At present, AJNA is a real-time video analysis tool for live football, tracking both the players and the ball position with no need for operator assistance.

It is proof-of-concept ready, having been subjected to continuous testing around futsal matches and regular matches in the Ukrainian Premier League, as demonstrated by the tournament at ICE, which featured eight matches across the three days.

It is therefore ready to be used for advanced in-game analytics on sports betting-based applications, while it will soon expand to generate new betting opportunities through odds based on dynamic player interaction graphs.

It will also support deeper player performance analysis through configurable player KPIs, usually defined by the player’s coach. AJNA can even serve as an extension to BetConstruct’s Friendship Platform, a live video stock where published video streams are available for global operators to purchase.

The target groups for the product are therefore sports clubs and teams for player/team data, sports betting operators and odds feed providers for odds generation, and media companies who wish to deliver additional on-screen data to their site or channel visitors.

In the future, it is likely to be evolved to support live virtual reality streaming for big matches, delivering a 3D reconstructed game experience using real-time game data.

It will also enable deeper in-game extraction for sports betting purposes, while a rendering engine will use photo-realistic textures obtained during the game to provide a unique experience, where the end user can watch the match from an arbitrary selected viewpoint.
