Best Holiday:
It will have to be the very first holidays with our newborn twins, a boy and a girl, an absolute definition of a unique experience, at least compared to what I have been usually used to do as a single man. Travelling by ferry boat to Paros, a very beautiful Greek island, carrying with us all sorts of things trolleys, luggages, toys and many accessories for the kids, like these caravans one sees at the desert.
But also, the holidays we are planning to make this Easter with 2 more families and kids to Crete, another famous Greek island, will have to be unforgettable: 6 adults and 5 kids from 3 to 6 years old, making all these boat trips and excursions with a 10-seated mini van around this very picturesque and very traditional Cretan region of Sfakia.
Best Album:
I honestly can’t take a pick, there are just so many excellent ones… if I had to choose one, it would have to be “This is Black Coffee” by DJ Black Coffee, which is my favourite one in Spotify while at the gym or in an outdoor run.
Best sporting experience
Due to the nature of my job, we sponsor many teams in Greece, Romania and Germany, so this gives me the chance to travel a lot to watch soccer matches. Three years ago, I was lucky enough to watch Champions’ League Final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in Milan. Such a diverse football crowd and a truly unique atmosphere, a really unforgettable experience.
Best Film
Although I am mostly a series’ fan, if I had to pick a movie, I would definitely go for an oldie, 1994’s “The Shawshank Redemption” with Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman!
Best Book
I can’t recall the best, but one of the latest reads was a Greek book written by Elias Anastadiadis, called “Monday”. It was a personal story, of a man who struggled against his passion for gambling, and which showed the power of soul and will.
Best Bet
Hahahaha, now that’s the story of my life! Well, there are so many bets placed the last 15 years, some of them really crazy. So, I won’t say the best, but for sure an unforgettable one. It was a group-bet with 3 friends of mine, almost 15 years ago, on Latin American soccer and more specifically a parlay of 4 matches where the local greek bookie, due to lack of intelligence, has given odds reversely to the local Latam bookies.
We stayed awake all night long, with a lousy internet connection, listening really hard to these local radio stations through Internet describing the matches. In the end, we were rewarded as our betting slip won, so we had a great weekend with our profits!
