Ladbrokes has this morning informed that ‘Children with Cancer UK’ will serve as its new Charity Partner, agreeing on a three-year arrangement which will see the bookmaker raise funds to help the organisation improve survival rates of young patients.

Children with Cancer UK has been selected by Ladbrokes staff and will see the bookmaker utilise its marketing assets and sports partnerships to help drive awareness of the charity’s initiatives.

Ladbrokes marketing informs that through its title sponsorship of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), Children with Cancer UK will have a significant brand presence across all 42 clubs in the SPFL from the start of 2019/2020 season, including on ‘LED signage, interview backdrops and static boards around the grounds’.

In addition, Ladbrokes informs that the cancer charity will act as official shirt sponsor of Sunderland AFC for 2019/20, a sponsorship donated by GVC Holdings.

Ladbrokes Chief Marketing Officer Dominic Grounsell commented on initiatives – “Nearly everyone will at some stage have been affected by cancer and so this is a charity close to all of our hearts. We will be looking to raise valuable funds both locally and nationally, and I have no doubt that our Ladbrokes colleagues will come up with some exciting and creative ways of raising money for Children with Cancer UK.”

“We are delighted that we can use our existing football partnerships to raise awareness of Children with Cancer UK and believe this will also have real emotional value to fans of all the clubs concerned.”

As a public health charity, Children with Cancer UK utilises funds raised to support vital specialist research and help improve survival rates and the quality of life and care given to young patients and their families throughout periods of intensive hospital treatment.

Praising Ladbrokes support, Zahra Scott, Senior Manager, Sports, Regional and Corporate, Children with Cancer UK said:

“We are delighted to be chosen by Ladbrokes as its Charity Partner. Such partnerships enable us to continue to fund research to improve survival rates and quality of survival in young cancer patients and to find ways to prevent cancer in the future. We look forward to collaborating with Ladbrokes over the next three years to help more children with cancer ring the end of treatment bell and keep families together.”
