DGOJ reduces red-tape for Spanish tech incumbents
The DGOJ, Spain’s regulatory authority for gambling has moved to streamline its approval procedures for technical and operational changes, seeking to reduce administrative burdens placed on regulated market incumbents tech and product development.
Updating the market, the DGOJ confirms that it has reorganised its ‘approval procedure’ attached to the modifications of games, platforms and data centres, which will no longer require authorisation by the regulator.
Reducing administrative burdens, the DGOJ will instead require that licensed incumbents update a ‘quarterly change report’, informing the authority of modifications undertaken.
‘This is expected to significantly reduce the number of authorizations required while maintaining the levels of control and security of the games through the certification processes and the approval procedures of the technical gaming systems. ’– The DGOJ details in its regulatory update.
The DGOJ confirms that it has updated its documents on technical and operational guidance for its market incumbents.
Closing its update, the DGOJ recommends that stakeholders reference its ‘technical and operational note’ on the management of gaming systems, and its ‘frequently asked questions’ on certification and auditing of operating systems.
