BetUK replaces Royal Panda as QPR’s official betting partner

BetUK has confirmed that it has been named the official betting partner of Championship-side Queens Park Rangers’ (QPR), with the deal expected to last for the remainder of the season.

QPR’s former partner, Royal Panda, withdrew from the UK betting market earlier this month citing ‘tougher regulations’ as a primary reason. The group made specific reference to the reduction in the amount people that can bet on live fixed odds betting terminals, as a result of legislation introduced in April 2019.

However, the latest deal still sees the LeoVegas Group remain with the Championship club, with its UK-facing brand BetUK assuming the sponsorship agreement.

QPR’s Commercial Director Euan Inglis stated: “Royal Panda have been a fantastic partner for the last two and a half seasons. Although Royal Panda will be replaced by BetUK.com until the end of this season, our relationship with the group will be maintained by BetUK.com coming on board.”

As part of the agreement, BetUK’s logo will be displayed on the front of the club’s first-team shirts until the end of the season. The logo will also be displayed in various areas around the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and training facility, along with one of the stadium’s stands.

Any supporter who purchased a Royal Panda branded 2019/20 QPR shirt can swap logos to a BetUK design at no additional cost in order to appease fans who had previously purchased the side’s recent shirt.

A BetUK.com spokesperson discussed the decision: “We wanted to give all supporters the opportunity to match their shirts with the players’. It’s important for us that we create a strong link between BetUK.com, the club and the supporters. We are excited to immerse ourselves into the club’s culture and fan base.”

Over recent months, LeoVegas has strengthened its portfolio of UK sponsorship agreements after the BetUK brand was named the official betting partner of the Premiership Rugby league.

The partnership between the operator and rugby league has placed a focus upon the promotion of the Safe Gambling Campaign, having also named BetUK.com as the partner for the free-to-play Premiership Rugby Predictor game on the Premiership Rugby app.
