MansionBet ups commitment to greyhound racing with BGRF contributions
MansionBet has become the latest bookmaker to contribute to the British Greyhound Racing Fund (BGRF).
By becoming a contributor to the fund, MansionBet will support the Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) in delivering essential welfare and integrity initiatives through the Greyhound Commitment.
Ross Harkins, Head of Sportsbook at MansionBet, said: “Over the past year we have invested a lot of resources into drastically improving our greyhound offering.
“Becoming a contributor to the British Greyhound Racing Fund was a natural step forward for us as a sportsbook and I’m delighted that we are contributing to the welfare and integrity initiatives to ensure the best possible care for greyhounds.”
It follows a series of ‘positive and productive discussions’ between the operator and GBGB on how they can work more closely together to support the development of the sport.
Most recently, GBGB launched its Greyhound Retirement Scheme, which aims to ensure every racing greyhound enjoys’ a long and happy retirement by removing the financial barriers to their rehoming’.
Joe Scanlon, Chairman of the Fund, noted: “We are extremely pleased to welcome MansionBet to our list of major online contributors. In these difficult times it’s more vital than ever that all bookmakers who benefit from the sport accept their responsibility, thereby ensuring we are able to provide the highest level of welfare provision for the racing greyhound throughout their life.”
Mark Moisley, GBGB Commercial Director, concluded: “MansionBet is a well-known name in sport and we are delighted that they will now be contributing to greyhound racing.
“They are keen to develop a partnership with GBGB and provide sponsorship, in addition to the levy fund, and we look forward to working closely alongside them.”
