ComeOn names Juergen Reutter as new CEO

Cherry AB subsidiary ComeOn Group has confirmed the appointment of Juergen Reutter as its new Chief Executive, effective immediately.

Reutter has replaced Lahcene Merzoug as CEO of ComeOn after the executive confirmed he would be stepping down in Q3 of this year to pursue ventures outside of the igaming sector.

A twenty-year industry executive, Reutter is the former founder and CEO of Addison Global, the operating company of defunct mobile sportsbook MoPlay, which was launched in 2017.

Lauded as an expert in executing digital growth strategies for igaming operators, Reutter  also served as CEO of William Hill’s online division and operations director from 2014-2017.

“We are pleased to announce Juergen’s appointment as the new CEO of the ComeOn Group,” said Itai Frieberger, chairman of the ComeOn Group.

“Juergen is bringing over 20 years of digital experience and a wealth of industry expertise to the organisation.”

Reutter will be tasked with continuing ComeOn’s strategic reforms, which saw the Cherry AB online gambling subsidiary retire all brands for the UK market in 2019, citing that the company would focus on more favourable jurisdictions.

In 2018, Cherry’s board ordered an immediate review of the ComeOn brand portfolio and strategy after the subsidiary had missed key growth targets following its full buyout in 2017.
