Groupe FDJ restructures board duties
Groupe FDJ has announced a number of boardroom changes impacting the governance of Française des Jeux – France’s national lottery operator.
The Paris Euronext firm confirms the appointment of former IBM France and ManPower Southern Europe chief executive Françoise Gri as a new independent director, replacing Marie-Ange Debon for the remainder of her tenure (expiring 2023).
Gri will fulfil Debon’s governance duties by becoming a member of FDJ’s executive appointment and reward committees.
The board appointment will be put to a shareholder vote in April. FDJ highlighted Gri’s proven track record having served directorships for Credit Agricole and as a senior advisor to the French government on corporate governance duties.
Further changes see independent director Pierre Pringuet former president of Pernod-Ricard, serve as FDJ’s chairman of appointments and compensation.
During 2021, FDJ’s corporate social responsibility and responsible gaming committees will be managed by independent director Fabienne Dulac, the current deputy chief executive of Orange France.
Meanwhile, FDJ’s employee representation and well-being will be led by current group operations executive David Chianese, who will join the firm’s risk and audit committees.
2021 will see FDJ carry out its commitment as lead sponsor of France’s Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic teams. Meanwhile, FDJ will begin its duties on the ‘organising committee’ of the Paris 2024 Olympics – set to be France’s biggest ever sporting event.
Further sponsorship commitments see FDJ maintain its position as lead sponsors of the Tour de France, and France’s national football team competing in this summer’s rescheduled UEFA European Championships.
