Denmark’s Danske Spil integrates Playtech products

Denmark’s national lottery Danske Spil has become the latest operator to integrate gambling software developer Playtech’s virtual sports betting products.

Danske Spil has selected eight of Playtech’s virtual sports titles, covering football, basketball, tennis, greyhound racing, horse racing, speedway, cycling and trotting.

Odds for the virtual betting markets are based on the simulations themselves, enabling Danske Spil’s customers to study form and results.

Pernille Mehl, CEO at Danske Lotteri Spil A/S, commented: “We are pleased to launch a new product vertical in our product portfolio. It is a different product than the classic lottery, which hopefully can attract new customers to our business.”

Playtech creates virtual sports using a process of advanced motion capture filming, and has also developed a custom platform and 24/7 schedule. Its products have already been made available across the betting platforms of GVC, OPAP and MansionBet.

“We’ve seen player engagement for our virtual sports outmatch even our most optimistic expectations in recent months, and we’re delighted to announce that Danske Spil has launched our innovative virtual sports portfolio,” said Richard Andrew, Director of Virtual Sports at Playtech Sports.

“We’re thrilled to offer the industry’s most exciting simulation of live sports available with our latest collaboration. Danske Spil have customised the product specifically for their Danish players and we have no doubt it will prove to be a strong revenue driver and a firm player favourite.”

The integration of its products into the Danske Spil portfolio represents another step in LSE-listed Playtech’s European and global expansion.
