STS and Fortuna dominate Polish Bookmaker Awards 2020
The 2020 edition of Legalni Bukmacherzy’s Polish Bookmaker Awards – recognising the best operators of 2019 – was dominated by STS and Fortuna, with the duo collecting four awards each.
Awards were offered across 11 different categories, including five new categories, which organisers felt were ‘the most important for players’.
One newly introduced category, the Award for Best Social Campaign, was cinched by Fortuna, in recognition of a generous campaign for football fans which saw every spectator in Polish II Liga stadiums contribute donations towards charitable causes.
Despite the ceremony being only the second such event to be held for many years, the awards have become widely recognised in Poland’s sports betting industry.
Hosted at the Hotel InterContinental in Warsaw and presented by one of Poland’s most iconic sports commentators, Jerzy Mielweski, FEG Group-owned Fortuna emerged as the biggest winner of the night, taking home the award for Best Polish Bookmaker of 2019.
Russian bookmaker Fonbet – the third largest bookmaker in Poland in terms of market share and a partner of Real Madrid – received the Award for Best Odds for the second year running.
Meanwhile, Betclic earned its title as the Best Debut bookmaker following a strong marketing campaign and product offering throughout 2019, standing out from the competition.
Legalni Bukmacherzy, part of the iGamingNuts group, said it was ‘extremely happy with this year’s continuation of their successful awards ceremony’, and also noted that the awards have ‘not gone unnoticed in gaming circles for both players and bookmakers, whose eyes are nor firmly on next year’s prizes’.
