Bitcoin’s ‘open borders policy’ facilitates global economy, Tim Draper says

Venture capitalist Tim Draper remains bullish on Bitcoin in spite of its recent dip. While speaking at the Collision web summit on Thursday, Draper said Bitcoin (BTC) is an incentive for governments around the world to compete for the attention, devotion and therefore, money of its citizens. The venture capitalist is outspoken and believes that crypto levels the playing field. It is up to the lawmakers to decide on their intentions. Do they really want to make people’s lives better? Because if not, people will simply move elsewhere.

“People are already realizing that they would rather have Bitcoin than fiat currency,” Draper said.

“Bitcoin facilitates [a global economy] from the economic standpoint because it is a global currency. It doesn’t care where the borders are. It isn’t tied to one nationality or another,” he added.

Draper directed his attention to the Collision attendees and provided them with some free advice. Everyone should enter the crypto economy by getting a digital wallet he said. He then encouraged women to put their “toe in the water” and get started.

“It turns out only one out of 14 Bitcoin wallets is owned by a woman,” Draper said, while pointing out that women control 85% of retail spending in the United States. The bitcoin bull was referring to a recent report from crypto exchange Gemini, which indicates that in the U.S., more women than men are currently interesting in crypto.

In a recent Tweet to his followers, Draper made it clear once again clear that governments do have a choice to make.

Draper holds “a lot” of his portfolio in Bitcoin after he stopped trading stocks two years ago. He believes the price of the leading cryptocurrency will reach a $250,000 price in 2023.
