FDJ expands Factory Sports programme for Paris 2024
Francaise des Jeux (FDJ), has welcomed the return of French athletes competing in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The principal sponsor of France’s Olympic team and main fundraiser for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games hailed the performance of French athletes, who won a total of 33 medals, including 10 gold medals.
France’s national lottery operator supported the development of several Team France Tokyo 2020 participants through its ‘FDJ Factory’ sports development programme.
Amongst France’s gold medalists were FDJ-backed athletes Romane Dicko (female Judo), Enzo Lefort (foil fencing) and Jean Quiquampoix (25m – shooting).
Further Tokyo highlights saw FDJ sponsored teams winning gold medals in men’s and women’s handball competitions, and silver and bronze medals in Basketball.
FDJ will now turn its focus to supporting the athletes of France’s Paralympics team, in which the its Factory programme has supported gold medal hopefuls Laurent Chardard (para-swimming), Manon Genest (para-athletics), Nathan Petit (para-judo), Alex Portal (para-swimming).
Preparing for France to host the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, FDJ will expand its fundraising for the National Sports Agency (ANS) – an organisation that has been financially supported by FDJ for the past 40-years.
Working with ANS, FDJ launched its Factory programme in 2019, with the aim of establishing an effective sports support network for French athletes to be fully implemented in time for the Paris 2024 Olympics Games.
