Amsterdam-based Bitcoin Bitfury to go Public for “Billions of Pounds”

Amsterdam-based Bitcoin mining company Bitfury is preparing to go public according to a report in the Telegraph on Monday. The Bitcoin miner is considering a listing either in Amsterdam or London. Presently, Argo Blockchain is the only crypto miner with a public listing in the U.K.

It can be expected that the public listing will make Bitfury’s Europe’s biggest cryptocurrency valuation with a “price tag in the billions of pounds”. The firm, founded in 2011 by its CEO Valery Vavilov, is consulting with Deloitte over their potential listing which is anticipated to happen in the next 12 months. Some of Bitfury’s early investors include billionaire Mike Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital.

In March, a U.S spin off mining operations that involved a $50 million investment from Bitfury with the special purpose acquisition company Good Works Acquisition, led to Cipher Mining Technologies , which is now listed on Nasdaq with a valuation of over $2 billion.
