NBA Pens Multi-Year Deals with DraftKings and FanDuel

The National Basketball Association (NBA) revealed last week it expanded its multi-year relationships with DraftKings and FanDuel. Both have now become co-official sports betting partners of Basketball league.

The agreements that run for a period of years, allows both competing companies the right to integrate NBA assets, including data and league marks, throughout their daily fantasy sports and sports betting platforms.

Both betting firms will bring its customers game highlight videos, a feature that will also include Canada, where the operators plan to launch in the coming months, after the Canadian government legalized single-game sports betting this August.

FanDuel and DraftKings will also both become sponsors of the NBABet Stream show, which is broadcasted via NBA League Pass and the NBA TV app.

Senior Vice President, Head of Gaming & New Business Ventures for the NBA, Scott Kaufman-Ross, said in an official press release:

“DraftKings and FanDuel are market leaders who have been incredible partners in engaging with the millions of NBA fans who enjoy fantasy and betting. [They] sit at the centre of the continued convergence between media and sports betting and, together, we are excited to bring these unique content experiences to our fans. DraftKings has demonstrated a clear commitment to strategically investing at the intersection of betting and content.”

Chief Business Officer at DraftKings, Ezra Kucharz, said:

“The NBA season only just tipped off, and yet we have already seen the immediate impact of the sport among our customer base with significant reengagement along with healthy new betting activity across all of our states. All of this signals the rising demand for NBA basketball in its 75th anniversary season among sports bettors and daily fantasy players, and we are pleased to continuously collaborate with the league on new fan-centric platforms like our NBABet Stream integration.”

DraftKings is granted the right for on-site presence at tentpole NBA events including the NBA All-Star Game, Rising Stars, NBA All-Star Saturday Night and NBA Draft presented by State Farm.

In addition to the deal with the NBA, FanDuel also disclosed its multi-year partnership with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), giving the company rights to use active NBA player imagery in its visuals.

Chief Executive Officer of FanDuel, Amy Howe, said:
