Tezos Integration on NFT Platform Rarible Launches Today With Exclusive Collection
The non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace Rarible has now completed its integration with energy-efficient, proof-of-stake blockchain Tezos after the plans were first announced last month..
The inclusion of Tezos marks Rarible’s third supported blockchain, following Ethereum and Flow. With the strategic alliance, Tezos NFTs will be featured on Rarible’s marketplace while secondary sales of projects in the Tezos ecosystem will also be supported.
Since Tezos is the blockchain being used by video game giant Ubisoft, Rarible will also immediately be supporting secondary sales from Ubisoft’s Digits, in-game collectibles with active utility value for players. Although Ubisoft’s move into the NFT space was generally met with confusion from gamers, Rarible co-founder and head of product, Alex Salnikov sees the potential. Speaking with Coindesk he said:
“It’s quite clear that blockchain gaming is the next big thing.
So [the Ubisoft news] is completely expected. And we will see more of that in the race of who will be there first.”
To celebrate the collaboration, Rarible and Tezos will be launching an inaugural NFT collection called Blazing Futures that features works from 10 Tezos-based artists, exclusively available on Rarible starting today.
Earlier this week, EXTZ, the native token of the Tezos blockchain, XTZ found its way to investors across 16 European Union countries when digital asset manager ETC Group launched an institutional-grade Tezos exchange-traded exchange-traded product (ETP) on Deutsche Börse XETRA.
