‘Bitcoin Nation’ El Salvador to Build a New National Stadium
Bitcoin nation, El Salvador will start the construction of a new national stadium in and will do so with the help of China.
The country’s top Bitcoin man, president Nayib Bukele made the announcement in a Spanish-language Tweet on Friday. Translated into English, he said:
“This is a collaboration granted directly by President Xi and an example of the friendship between the peoples of China and El Salvador.”
Bukele revealed that the new stadium will be built to host a minimum of 50,000 seated fans. The location will be the current spot of the country’s military school, which will will transfer elsewhere in the country to get an immediate upgrade and double its capacity.

El Salvador made massive headlines in 2021, becoming the first, and thus far only, country to make Bitcoin legal tender, despite some heavy criticism from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
The adoption of Bitcoin has boosted building projects in El Salvador. A month ago, Bukele announced plans to build “Bitcoin City,” a city powered by the energy of the country’s abundant source of renewable energy coming from volcanoes.
