NFT Fantasy Football Platform Sorare Reveals 2022 Plans

After a stellar year for fantasy football and NFT trading platform Sorare, where it displayed a 4000% growth in trading volume, Brian O’Hagan, Sorare’s Growth Lead, took to Twitter and made predictions for the new year.

Currently holding offices in Paris and New York, after recently opening an office in the Big Apple, O’Hagan is expecting further growth in 2022. With a valuation of $4.3 billion after its Series B funding round in September of 2021, the NFT football trading platform already said to be using its liquidity to spur its growth and step outside the field of soccer collectibles.

What can we expect from Sorare in 2022?

Mobile Application

The company will be launching there Mobile Fantasy Football Application this year, acknowledging the need for a better experience with over 60% of its football managers making use of their mobile devices. O’Hagan announced a gradual roll out of the app in order to ultimately bring their “live fantasy experience will from 0 to 1, delighting users during game weeks.”

Onboarding of Top 20 Football Leagues

The Sorare team has the ambition to onboard all of the top 20 football leagues in the world. Earlier in 2021 it secured a deal with Spanish La Liga. The rationale is simple, O’Hagan explained. More clubs will lead to new licensed players that will be available as an NFT for Sorare managers, will inevitably lead to a more compelling and exciting game. Simultaneously it will bring in a new fanbase and builds awareness in the region, thereby “creating a growth loop”.

Marketing, In a Big Way

“Have you ever seen a Sorare ad? Probably not. So far we focused on building marketing into the product, with growth loops,” Sorare’s Growth Lead said as he announced that the company will bump up its marketing efforts “in a big way” in order to “build an iconic and global brand”

People & More Brainpower

Starting 2021 with a team of 10, Sorare had grown to a headcount of 40 by the end of the year.

Stressing that “building a great community & product is a marathon, not a sprint,” O’Hagan revealed the plans to expand to a loyal group of 200 employees by the end of 2022 and clearly making a statement on its growth potential for the years.

Major League Baseball?

A final prediction Sorare makes for the new year, is the launch of a new sport to base its successful model on.

After the recent opening and expansion of their New York office, this will certainly be a U.S. sports and with the Major League Baseball season kicking off March 31, and Baseball collectibles being a generations-long tradition in the country, we are confident that this is the sport Sorare will add to its line-up in 2022.
