NFT Platform OpenSea Valued at .3B After 0M Investment Round

NFT Marketplace OpenSea said on Tuesday night that after the latest Series C funding round, investors value the company at $13.3 billion. The round was led by Paradigm and Coatue and puts OpenSea in the top league of private firms in crypto.

In July of 2021, the startup received ‘only’ a valuation of $1.5 billion after a $100 million Series B announced last July.

Today’s figures show the speed and audacity with which OpenSea has developed itself as the leading platform for trading non-fungible tokens. In a blog post, the company said it plans to use the newfound liquidity for product development, hiring, startup investments and to “significantly improve customer support and customer safety.”

Business has been booming for OpenSea. During the last 30 days alone, the marketplace for digital collectibles was good for 1.6 million Ethereum transactions and a trading volume of $2.4 billion, data from DappRadar shows.
