Elon Musk Slams Twitter’s New NFT Verification Feature

Dogefather’, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has slammed Twitter for its latest move integrating non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the platform for profile verification.

In a Tweet, Musk is calling the innovation “annoying,” saying that Twitter is wasting engineering resources “on this bs while crypto scammers are throwing a spambot block party in every thread.”

Musk immediately got a back up from Bitcoin bull Michael Saylor who provided a solution for Musk’s concern by using the Bitcoin Lightning Network.

Musk’s harsh word did nevertheless lead to criticism from the cryptocurrency community with users recalling that Tesla is accepting dogecoin (DOGE) for merchandise while still snubbing Bitcoin after it suspended the top cryptocurrency for payments last year.

Twitter Blue Labs, the social media platform’s premium subscription model, announced last week that users can now link their Ethereum wallets to their Twitter accounts to verify their NFTs as profile pictures.
