UK Gambling Commission Fines Two Online Casinos with £1.7 Million

The UK Gambling Commission has announced it fined two online casinos will for a total of £1.3 million ($1.7 million) for failure to meet social responsibility regulations.

Rank Digital Gaming (Alderney) Limited, with brands bellacasino.com, grosvenorcasino.com, meccabingo.com and meccagames.com, received a penalty of £700,557 ($955,810).

Meanwhile, Annexio (Jersey) Limited, known for lottogo.com will need to pay a £612,000 ($834,990) fine for both social responsibility and money laundering failures.

The fines paid by both businesses will go to the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms.

Helen Venn, Gambling Commission Executive Director, said

“We expect high standards from operators to ensure gambling in Britain is safe and crime-free. Those businesses that fail to meet these standards will find themselves facing costly regulatory action.”
