Visa’s Crypto Payments Grow 21% in Last Three Months of 2021 to .5B

During the last three months of 2021, payment giant Visa processed $2.5 billion in crypto payments for its customers worldwide.

During an earnings call Chief Executive Officer Al Kelly said that in the quarter his firm completed a total of over $46.7 billion worth in transactions, an increase of 21% compared to the year before.

The transactions made via the company’s crypto-linked cards surged due to an increase of platforms and exchanges they have partnered up with, such as Coinbase and BlockFi.

Kelly also noted that the acceptance of Visa-linked crypto payments increased to already over 100 million merchants. The Visa executive noted that the company “will continue to lean into the crypto space,” by enhancing partnerships that help ensure connectivity, reliability, and security, with specific attention to scaling services and value proposition to customers.
