‘NFT Worlds’ Upgrade Brings Microsoft’s Minecraft to the Metaverse
Huge news for Minecraft fans and NFT collectors alike. Popular video game Minecraft, released as early as 2011, is upgrading to Web3 thanks to unaffiliated third party developers.
With some of Minecraft’s software being open source, NFT Worlds has entered to provide the game’s players a metaverse experience in an existing game.
NFT Worlds’ blockchain layer on Minecraft gives players the possibility to make use of Web3 features, like an online shop where they can purchase items for their Minecraft experience using the $WRLD token.
In-game $WRLD purchasing, transactions & the P2E $WRLD layer will be rolling out soon. Completely frictionless, no gas required to spend/transact $WRLD in an NFT World.
In this demo video, we built a simple “Shop” using the $WRLD layer and bought an Apple in-game with $WRLD. pic.twitter.com/8XjCuzdkTG
