Coinbase’s Purchase of Brazilian Mercado Bitcoin Off The Table for Now
Coinbase and the parent company of Mercado Bitcoin, Brazilian 2TM, have reportedly stopped talks involving the Nasdaq listed crypto exchange buying the firm.
As reported by Bloomberg on Tuesday, 2TM and Coinbase ceased discussions around the US-based crypto exchange buying the $2 billion Brazilian company.
It remains unclear why the talks have ended. While 2TM declined to comment, a Coinbase representative said they remain “committed to the Brazilian market.”
