Shopify Expands Crypto Payment Options With Crypto.com Deal

E-commerce platform Shopify (SHOP) has expanded its payment options by including the Crypto.com Pay feature as another way for merchants to accept cryptocurrency for purchases made.

Sellers using the Crypto.com Pay feature can allow customers to settle their accounts with over 20 tokens, according to a statement.

In a statement, John Lee, Shopify’s lead of blockchain ecosystem, said:

“Our growing blockchain ecosystem demonstrates our commitment to supporting merchants with alternative payment methods on their storefronts, helping to further expand what’s possible in commerce.”

To kick off the partnership, Shopify merchants using Crypto.com Pay will not have to pay settlement fees for the first month.

Last month at the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami, Jack Mallers’ payment network Strike announced the integration of Bitcoin Lightning payments with Shopify via its platform.

Other existing crypto payment options include Coinbase Commerce and BitPay.
