Binance Hiring for 2000 Roles While Competition Lets Go of People

While its competition is aggressively letting go of its workforce, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance is hiring up to two thousand new employees.

Binance CEO, Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao, made the announcement himself:

“It was not easy saying no to Super bowl ads, stadium naming rights, large sponsor deals a few months ago, but we did. Today, we are hiring for 2000 open positions for Binance.”

The announcement comes at a time when other big crypto companies, such as Coinbase and Gemini all announced huge cuts in workforce, with the former reportedly saying goodbye to 18% of its people.

CZ had recently hinted that Binance had secured the resources to bring in more employees and to focus on acquisitions.

“We have a very healthy war chest; we in fact are expanding hiring right now. If we are in a crypto winter, we will leverage that, we will use that to the max.”

According to the Binance CEO, while a lot of companies in the industry are struggling during this bear market, the crypto space will ultimately come back stronger than before. He told his Twitter following:

“While lots of projects and exchanges are going to struggle through the bear market, many will come back stronger than before. Those that fail honestly, will start new projects and bring critical learnings from this experience. This is how an industry grows.

Even though we have the benefit of experience from previous cycles, we are not immune to this cycle either. We will be doing some deep self-inflection to better prepare for the next bull market.”

Founder and Chief Executive Sam Bankman-Fried of competing exchange FTX confirmed that his firm plans to keep hiring new people amidst the latest turmoil. Sometimes, when others Zig, you Zag,he said
