Polygon Brings Web3 to Smartphones on the ‘Nothing Phone’

Ethereum scaling project Polygon has revealed a new partnership with tech startup Nothing.

Nothing has approached the Polygon network to offer non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its new Android-based Nothing Phone.

The project is called “Nothing Community Dots” which includes airdropping tokens to Nothing investors that unlock benefits such as early access to new products or events.

One of the first rewards are invites to the London launch of the Nothing Phone this July 12.

Sandeep Nailwal, Polygon co-founder said:

“[It is] immensely encouraging to see an innovator like Nothing embrace Web3 from the get-go, enabling direct access to Web3 by working with Polygon.”

The blockchain follows the Solana network in bringing Web3 to smartphones. Earlier in June, Solana announced its own blockchain phone called Saga, which will have a Web3 dapp (decentralized app) store Solana Pay and a vault to safeguard private keys. The Saga phone is planned for release by 2023.
