Racing Post, part of Spotlight Sports Group (SSG), a leading technology, content and media company specialising in sports betting, has been nominated for this year’s YouTube Channel of the Year in the Broadcast Sport Awards 2022.

It is the first time the Racing Post has received an award nomination for its industry-leading YouTube channel and it is thanks to the channel’s outstanding success. In the past year, Racing Post has received 3.8 million views and 39.8 million impressions on its YouTube shows and has solidified the channel as the home of sports betting video content. It has also grown its YouTube subscriber base by more than 30%.

The major highlight for the YouTube Channel this year has been the Grand National broadcast of Racing Post Live, which attracted 94k organic YouTube views, and peaked at 9,000 concurrent viewers.

The Racing Post has created a suite of weekly shows mixing live and fast-turnaround pre-record formats – all produced in-house. Racing Post Live, What A Shout, Upping The Ante, The Front Page, The Sweet Spot and The Flat Pack make up a typical weekly schedule. This is supplemented by In The Know, a festival-focused live show. The production team has also worked on evergreen content production for sponsors built around the activation of their racing ambassadors leading into the Cheltenham Festival.

Discussing the award nomination, Spotlight Sports Group’s chief marketing officer, Gethin Evans, said: “We are hugely honoured to have received this nomination from Broadcast Sport. We set off on this journey to take the best Racing Post data, talent and expertise and build the best roster of shows out there. Going up against the likes of Sky Sports Premier League and The Overlap shows just how far we’ve come in a short time. We have some knockout new formats coming to market soon and we look forward to working really closely with our partners bet365, Betfair, and Coral going into 2023.”

The Broadcast Sport Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday 1st November at London Hilton on Park Lane where all winners will be announced.
