Nebraskans One Step Closer to Sports Betting in their State

Nebraska is one step closer to authorizing sports betting at racetrack casinos after state regulators approved guidelines for wagering on sports events on Friday. However, it is yet unclear when Nebraskans will be able to place bets.

The new industry will most likely take many months to get off the ground. The rules must now be reviewed by the Attorney General’s Office before being authorized by the governor, a process that is not yet known how long it will take.

The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission overwhelmingly approved the regulations, which reflect the framework authorized by the Nebraska Legislature this year.

The proposed legal work mandates that all sports betting happens in person at casinos or horse racing facilities, and they prohibit wagering on games featuring teams that compete within the state.

Furthermore, the rules outline many technical aspects of sports wagering, such as what types of events individuals may bet on and what kind of bets they can place.
