The Queen’s Christmas Address – Will she mention Meghan?

Following a request from a customer William Hill has offered odds of just 10/1 that Meghan Markle, the new girlfriend of Prince Harry, will be mentioned in the Queen’s Christmas address.

The bookmaker has offered further markets on Markle, an actor best known for her roles in Suits and Fringe, with 25/1 that she’ll be engaged to Harry by the end of this year. It sees 2017 as a far likelier period in which the pair will announce the next major British royal engagement however, with odds as low as 3/1.

William Hill Spokesman Rupert Adams commented: “Sadly it looks like they will be spending Christmas apart but absence makes the heart grow fonder and this could be the big story of 2017,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Californian Markle is also a humanitarian who became the Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada this year and has worked for the U.N. as as advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women.

It was only in November that Kensington Palace confirmed that the relationship between Markle and Windsor was a few months old, with the Prince requesting for a ceasefire on the media harrassment of her and her family.

Bookies are not adverse to markets on the Royals and earlier this year gave odds of 4/1 that the Queen, who turned 90 this year, would abdicate before the end of 2016. Prince Charles was at 1/4 to take over the reigns.
