FDJ places Responsible Gambling at the top of its new CSR agenda

The governance of French state-owned betting/lottery operator Francais Des Jeux (FDJ) has pledged to increase its efforts in tackling problem gambling, presenting the firm’s new ‘corporate social responsibility’ programme.

Updating French media, FDJ governance has pledged to commit 10% of its advertising budget towards promoting responsible gambling messages.

As part of its commitment FDJ marketing, has launched a series of nationwide marketing campaigns, promoting responsible gambling services, tools and practices.

“in-line with its corporate social responsibility policy, FDJ wishes to support its 25 million players to promote a recreational game. FDJ is launching a Responsible Gaming television campaign this week. The company announced on this occasion that as of 2019, 10% of the Group’s television advertising investments will be dedicated to Responsible Gaming” reads an FDJ statement.

The animated campaign has been developed by creative agency BETC Paris, and highlights FDJ gambling prevention tools available to players seeking information on ‘risk level of the game, self-assessment tests and playing limits’.

Further FDJ CSR commitments, saw the French operator commit to revamping staff training programmes focusing on spotting problem gambling and preventing under-age gambling.

In its CSR presentation, FDJ governance states that the company has introduced a new action-plan to become ‘a carbon neutral business in 2019 and reducing its carbon emissions by 20% by 2025.’
