Coronavirus disruptions see AGBrief postpone ASEAN Summit
Issuing a corporate statement, Asian gambling B2B publisher AGBrief has moved to postpone its flagship ‘ASEAN Gaming Summit’ (17-19 March 2020) citing the travel disruptions and potential health risks of the coronavirus outbreak.
Updating delegates and partners, AGBrief informs that its ASEAN summit has been rescheduled to the dates 28-30 July 2020, maintaining the venue of Shangri La At-The-Fort in Manila Philippines.
“AGBrief hopes this decision will help to protect our community by helping to curb the spread of the coronavirus, as well as to give our industry sufficient time to focus on recovery,” the publisher details in its statement.
The postponement of the ASEAN summit follows the decision by Macau’s government to temporarily shut down all casino venues for a period of two weeks.
On 4 February, Macau Province Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng ordered all 41 of the territory’s casinos to shut down operations for a period of at least two weeks as a measure to prevent the further spread of the Wuhan Coronavirus.
