Indian Gaming Firm MPL On FTX’ Radar as Next Target

Cryptocurrency exchange FTX is reportedly considering to to invest in Indian gaming firm Mobile Premier League (MPL).

Citing sources familiar with the matter, TechCrunch reports that FTX is one of the investors MPL is talking with as it gears up to expand into Web 3 gaming.

The sources also say that the Indian gaming firm, which counts Sequoia Capital India and RTP Global among its investors, is on the brink of another investment round in extension to its Series E round, at a company valuation of $2.5 billion.

MPL operates more than 60 mobile games ranging from sports-based to card-based, and fantasy cricket.

In March, FTX acquired the developer of the upcoming card battle game Storybook Brawl, Good Luck Games, for an undisclosed amount to become part of FTX Gaming, the exchange’ new gaming unit.
