Sportradar assesses impact of sports betting on athletes’ mental health in new video

Sportradar Group AG has strengthened its commitment to athlete well being with the release of a new educational video which will be made available to its Integrity Services league and governing body partners.

The documentary-style video aims to explore how legal sports betting may have an effect on the mental health and wellbeing of athletes.

Athletes including former professional soccer player and two-time gold medalist Lindsay Tarpley Snow, professional baseball player Garrett Whitlock and current college basketball player Connor McCaffery all feature in the video as they share their stories on mental health and sports betting.

By releasing the video, Sportradar aims to demonstrate its commitment to “providing solutions and supporting stakeholders across the sports betting ecosystem”.

The Athlete Wellbeing programme was launched back in July. It aims to reduce the impact of sports betting on professional sports people’s mental health.

The core focus of the initiative is on prevention and education, using a ‘comprehensive circulation’ involving on-demand virtual sessions, pre-recorded webinars and an in-person workshop.
