The launch of my campaign for the local council elections

ad_promotion_of_candidate_henrik_piski72During a press conference held yesterday in front of the busy church of San Bastjan in Qormi, I explained that I will work towards improving the quality of air if elected.  I will address the modernisation of ovens in local bakeries and the raising of its chimneys and I will also lobby to stop unfettered construction in our town.

I also pledged to increase the sense of community in Qormi and to cooperate with local NGOS in the organization of cultural activities, educational and sports events. Publications and informational signs concerning historical places should also be set up and updated for the benefit of locals and tourists alike.

During the same press conference, Alternattiva Demokratika chairman Arnold Cassola promised that his party’s elected councilors will work to ensure further investment in cultural activities and public libraries.

“We will also work to protect open spaces and render them more accessible for the elderly, people with disabilities and parents with young children,” Cassola said. “Increasing road spaces for cyclists and improving facilities for pedestrians should be a top priority for our councilors in local councils.”
